Zigzag Tutorial

This bracelet is really cool! It looks great with any color combination and can have as many strings as you want.

Supplies
Six pieces of embroidery floss. Blue, red, orange, green, yellow, and cream.

Step 1
Start you bracelet anyway you want and set up your strings like a candystripe. For this tutorial, the setup will be blue, red, orange, green, yellow, and cream. (b,r,o,g,y,c)


Step 2 
Take the blue string and make forward knots over the red, orange, green, yellow, and cream strings. Order should now be r,o,g,y,c,b

Step 3
Countinue making rows of forward knots (forward candystripes) with the other colors until your order returns to the original setup. (b,r,o,g,y,c)


Step 4
Take the cream string (c) and make backward knots over the strings yellow, green, orange, red, and blue strings. order should now be c,b,r,o,g,y

Step 5
Continue making backward knots (backward candystripes) with all the other colors until your order returns to the original setup. (b,r,o,g,y,c)


Step 6
Continue steps 2-5 until your bracelet is the desired length.
note: the only colors that will have two stripes in a row are the cream and blue strings. these strings are the ones that start off the forward candystripes and the backward candstripes. blue will always be the begining of a forward candystripe and the end of a backward candystripe. cream will be the beginning of a backward candystripe and the end of a forward candystripe.

Chevron (Arrow) Tutorial

This is a tutorial on how to make the chevron. The chevron is basically two candy stripes joined together, so make sure you know how to make the candy stripe. (my candy stripe tutorial) For this bracelet you will always need an even number of strings.

Supplies 
Eight pieces of embroidery floss in four colors. The colors I will be using will be orange, blue, pink and green.

Step 1 
Tie an overhand knot at the top and set up your strings in this order.
o, b, p, g, g, p, b, o



Step 2
Take the orange string on the left side and make fk over the left blue, pink and green strings.



Step 3
Take the orange string on the right side and make bk over the right blue, pink and green strings. The two orange strings should now be in the middle.


Step 4
Join the orange strings by making a fk. Your order should now be b, p, g, o, o, g, p, b


Step 5
Take the blue string on the left side and make fk over the left  pink, green and orange strings.


Step 6

Take the blue string on the right side and make bk over the right pink, green and orange strings. The two blue strings should now be in the middle.



Step 7
Join the blue strings by making a fk.Your order should now be p, g, o, b, b, o, g, p


Step 8 
Continue steps 1-7 until your bracelet is the desired legnth. Tie an overhand knot at the end and you are now ready to wear your bracelet!

Candy Stripe Tutorial

Here is the tutorial on how to make the candy stripe! This bracelet was the first one I learned to make and I hope it will be an inspiration to you. The great thing about this bracelet is that you can have as many strings as you want and as many color combinations. Make sure for this tutorial that you tie two of each knot!



Supplies 
Five pieces of embroidery floss. The colors I will use are blue, pink, green, orange, and yellow.

Step 1
Tie an overhand knot at the top and set up your strings in the order that are listed above (b,p,g,o,y)


Step 2
Take your blue string and make forward knots over the pink, green, orange and yellow strings. Your order should now be p,g,o,y,b


Step 3
Take your pink string and make forward knots over the green, orange, yellow and blue strings. Your order should now be g,o,y,b,p



Step 4
Take your green string and make forward knots over the orange, yellow, blue and pink strings. Your order should now be o,y,b,p,g


Step 5
Take your orange string and make forward knots over the yellow, blue, pink and green strings. Your order should now be y,b,p,g,o


Step 6 
Take your yellow string and make forward knots over the blue, pink, green and orange stings. Your order should now be back in its original order. b,p,g,o,y


Step 7 
Repeat steps 2-6 until your bracelet is the desired legnth.

Step 8
Tie a overhand knot at the end and wear your bracelet!


Note- if the lines go diagonal, don't worry,it is supposed to do that
