Christmas Presents

This year for my friends Christmas presents, I made them all a set of  bracelets. Instead of making them all one, big bracelet, they received a set of three small bracelets. The set included a Chinese staircase, double chain, and a simple braid. I have tutorials for the first two listed below. I made ten christmas presents, which means I made a total of 30 bracelets.
Chinese Staircase
Double Chain

I came up with various names for my color combos.

1.Under the Sea
2. Lollipop

3. Forest
4. Color Craze

5. Spring Fling
6. Sunset

7. Cotton Candy
8. Playtime.

9. Smokey Pink
10. Pops of Color

Sorry about photo quality. My blogger app isn't transferring the pictures clearly :(

Rose bracelet

This is a bracelet I made for a woman in  my church. Her family loves the bracelets I make and they order them frequently. This one took me a while because of school and the busyness in life, but I finally got it finished! She loved the result and I hope it will inspire you to make bigger patterns and challenge your bracelet-making ability!
This bracelet was 25 strings wide. I forgot to count the rows; sorry about that. I believe it was roughly 85 rows. I didn't create the pattern but found it here; xeric1's pattern on friendship-bracelets.net

The buckle at the beginning was made using alicat's buckle method, which can be found on my tutorial here.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

I have finished all my Christmas presents for my friends!! (pictures will be uploaded soon) It's only a month until Christmas! I'm getting so excited! Here in Newfoundland, we already have snow.
I know I haven't posted for a while, but tenth grade is busy! Hopefully over Christmas vacation I can put more tutorials on. Recently I started to watermark all my pictures, so if there isn't a picture on a post its because I'm updating it :) That's all for now, so continue to make bracelets!

Boyfriend/Girlfriend one year anniversary bracelets.

A friend of mine requested for me to make matching bracelets for her and her boyfriend's one year anniversary. It is a simple 8 string alpha bracelet that was fast and easy to make. I finished her boyfriend's and am now working on her bracelet. I didn't create the number pattern; I found it here: link will be posted when I get original creator's permission.
The boyfriend's is 98 rows long and the girlfriend's is 85 rows long.

Sleeping tikis

This bracelet was super fun to make! it went by super quick and the instructions weren't hard to memorize. I won't be posting a tutorial on this one because I did not create it. I will post a link of the original tutorial.
prpldrgnfr's tutorial on friendship-bracelets.net

The blue and green one is 16 strings.

The pink one is 14 strings

This one is neon colours with black. It is sixteen strings wide. To get the bracelet to look like this, your order has to be a bit different.  It has to be setup like this: if color 1=color and 2=black your setup should be 12211221 12211221. Setup by just_knot_itXD on friendship-bracelets.net.

I had to repost this post because my other post became all funky.

Video Trouble :(

I did what is said I was going to do in my last post: I made a video tutorial! The only problem is, it wont download to my blog :( I made it on my iPod so that could be the problem. I will try to make one with my camera and download it to the computer and then the blog, so it may download. Hopefully it will be done soon, so keep checking back for a video tutorial!

I hope every one's school year has been going well and you have been able to make some awesome bracelets! Also,I need some ideas to raise money so I can buy a new camera! If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave your suggestions in the comment box!

School is coming!

So school starts for me on September fourth. I know life will get busier, but I will try to post on this blog and keep showing off my bracelets! I know I never got all the tutorials done that I wanted but I will try to get them finished. Also, I was thinking that I should start to make videos tutorials to put on my blog as well as picture tutorials. I know some people understand videos better than written instructions, so hopefully that will start soon! I hope everyone has a good school year and will keep making bracelets!

Rag-Rug friendship bracelet tutorial

The rag rug is an easy, quick bracelet to make and this bracelet introduces you to the patterns on friendship-bracelets.net.

Supplies
Six colors of embroidery floss, one string of each color. I will be using blue, red, white, orange, green, and pink for this tutorial.

Setup
Set up your strings like a candy stripe. My order will be red, blue, white, orange, green, and pink (r,b,w,o,g,p)

Step 1
Now this bracelet is a little different than the other bracelets I have put on here so far. Instead of taking just one string and making a certain number of knots, you will pair up the strings and then make the knot. So you will pair up the strings like so: red&blue; white & orange; green & pink.

Now take the first group (red & blue) and make a backward knot with the blue.

Continue making backwards knots with the other groups. So a backward knot with the orange onto white

and pink onto green.

Your order should now be b,r,o,w,p,g

Step 2
Now you have to take out the outermost right string (blue) and the outermost left string (green) and set them aside. Now regroup your strings and your setup should be red & orange; white & pink.

Take the first group (red & orange) and make a forward knot with the red string.

Do the same thing with the other group.

Put the blue and green strings back in.  Your order should be b,o,r,p,w,g

Step 3
Continue steps 1 and 2 until your bracelet is the desired length. The colors will continue to change throughout the bracelet. Always take out the outermost left and right strings in step two!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Vertical wave bracelet

This bracelet is one I made for a friends birthday. Her birthday isn't until October, but I wanted to get a head start ;) It is twelve strings wide and the knotted part is 5 inches (14 centimetres). For me that is a total of 84 rows. I did not create the design for this bracelet. I found it here chibi_ragnarok's tutorial on friendship-bracelets.net

Heart bracelet tutorial

This bracelet is really fun to make. It may be a bit tricky to get the hang of, but once you do, it's easy.

Supplies
Two colours of embroidery floss, four strings of each color. I'll be using red and blue for this tutorial. It is best to use colours that contrast each other so the hearts stand out.

Step 1
Set up your strings like a chevron bracelet. My set up will be r,b,r,b,b,r,b,r. (r=red; b=blue)
Whatever color is the outmost color will be the color if the heart. So for this tutorial, red is the heart color and blue is the backround color.

Step 2
Take the outermost red string on the left side and make three forward knots.

Now take the outermost red string on the right side and make three backward knots.

Now join the middle strings.

Step 3
Repeat Step 2 again except use the outermost blue strings instead of red.

Step 4
Now take the outermost blue string on the left side and make a backward knot.

Now take the outermost blue string on the right side and make a forward knot.

Step 5
Take the outermost red string on the left side and make two forward knots.

Now take the outermost red string on the right side and make two backward knots, then join the middle

Step 6
Repeat Step 5&6 except it will be the opposite color. So if it was blue in Step 4&5 it will be red and if it was red it will be blue.

Step 7
Repeat Steps 2-6 until your bracelet is the desired length. When you repeat Step 2, you will be making the bottom of the heart.

I hope this tutorial explained to you how to make the heart bracelet. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment.

Broken Ladder Bracelet Tutorial

This bracelet is easy to make and super cute! My art class made these and they really enjoyed them. To make this bracelet, you should know how to make the Chinese staircase and chevron. I have tutorials for both of them if you aren't sure how to make them.

Supplies
You will need 8 pieces of embroidery floss, either 4 colors or 2 colors. I will be using 4 colors and they will be red, orange, yellow, and cream.

Step 1
Set up your strings like a chevron bracelet. My setup will be
r,o,y,c,c,y,o,r

Step 2
Make four rows of chevron, which would be one row for each each color.

Step 3
Now divide your strings into two groups. That means one of each color will be in a group with a total of 4 strings in a group.

Step 4
Take the color that was your first row of chevron. For me that is red. Take that string and make 10-15 rows of Chinese staircase. Do that for each group.

Step 5
Take the next color and make a row of chevron. The first row will be a bit wonky, but it will even out.

Make another three rows of chevron.

Step 6
Repeat steps 2-5 until your bracelet is the desired length.

Note: try to keep the color pattern consistent. So if the Chinese staircase is red then the next chevron would be orange.

Bordered Candystripe Bracelet Tutorial

This bracelet is super cute and fun to make. In this tutorial, two new knots are going to be used, the forward-backward knot and the backward-forward knot. So make sure you know how to make them. (check out my tutorial here)

Supplies
Six pieces of string, two of one color and four other colors. The two of one color will be the "border" color for this bracelet. I'll be using gray, blue, yellow, purple and  orange for this tutorial. Gray is going to be the border color.

Step 1
Cut your strings and start your bracelet anyway you want.

Step 2
Set up your strings in this order- gray, blue, yellow, purple, orange, gray. (g,b,y,p,o,g)
(grays will be referred to as g1 and g2 for clearer instructions)

Step 3
Take g1 and make a forward-backward knot (fk/bk) onto the blue string

Step 4
Take your blue string and make forward knots onto y,p,o

Step 5
Take g2 and make a backward-forward knot onto the orange string.

Step 6
Continue steps 3-6 until your bracelet is the desired length. The gray will not move from their positions, but the colors will alternate positions, like a regular candy stripe.
